The 8WD-2422 from 8Ware lets you do exactly that, all wirelessly up to 20 metres away, at resolutions up to 1080p indistinguishable from the original picture.
Omni-directional antenna system for a full HD video transmission distance of up to 8 metres (Line-of-Sight up to 20 metres) Transmits uncompressed HD audio/video wirelessly at wired-equivalent quality No latency when playing high definition video games HDCP 2.0 for secure wireless video transmission Includes an IR blaster extension cable so you can point your source component’s remote controls at your TV or receiver to operate those devices which may be in a cabinet or other room Present wireless link status displayed on TV screen Auto set-up, plug & play EDID/E-DDC 1.3 supported HDMI 1.3 supported CEC supported

- Works fairly well, but have had issues. When switching between local tv and tv in other room, if their resolutions don't match (720p vs 1080p) the device resets signal as your source switches resolutions. In some setups this will be a pain. Also seems to drop out after long use (possibly overheating). Works best when completely in the open i.e. not on a shelf or behind walls or even tv.
- Does exactly what it claims to, plug and play so easy.
