May not work on the XT Network - I installed it without the CD utility and had no issues with Internet dropping, so Asus possibly fixed that bug from last year :-) Cheers.
- Great product with good functionality, at a good price.
However, there was a fatal bug with mine, which was easily fixable. As mentioned in the previous review, the time for NZ is wrong, even with the latest firmware (1.0.4.1). Once the router is turned on, at the 2min mark, it connects to the NTP server to update the time. Afterwards, it seems to stop all internet connections (LAN connectionas are unaffected), even though the router would state it is connected to the internet and everything is fine.
The simple fix would be to type a non-existing NTP server, therefore preventing it from updating the time (leaving it blank does not work). Now my router hasn't dropped a connection for days.
You don't need to install the utility (from the CD), the router works perfectly fine without it.
I hope this helps anyone with similar problem as me.
- So far so good, with this modem. Only thing is the latest firmware (1.0.3.7) .
The time for NZ is wrong. Its ahead an hour of NZ time. And ASUS will have to update the firmware to fix it. ASUS are aware of this bug now.
Another prob, is the Utility for the router (that you install in Windows). It'll give you an ip address, but you cant give it an ip.
I found that if you type in an ip address, you wont get onto the internet, every time you reboot the computer.
Because the gateway address ip address kept disappearing. In the end, I uninstalled the utility, and I had to go into the registry and type in 192.168.1.1 under the gateway entry to fix it.
