I bought this for using with programmable car electronics which can be very sensitive, with cheap adapters rarely working. No issues at all with this one and the driver was easy to download and install. Appears to work, but it didn't help me with my Raspberry Pi application. The RPi appears to recognize it, but I still couldn't get a connection to my weather station. Works well once you get it connected but has molded and welded female screw receivers. On the male end of a RS232 it should be the other way round. Means that if the device you're plugging in to has the female receivers, as they should, then you can't connect it up. Really frustrating. Product does not seem to work for all applications. Would not communicate properly with SOND devices on Win7 x64 computer. It appears to be between baud rates regardless of the device and the local end both being fixed to 9600. Product does not seem to work for all applications.
