Short answer no, however if the projector is designed to handle any particular type of 3D signal (interlaced vs side by side for example) over VGA then potentially it MIGHT just work natively without requiring anything special from the converter. In saying this, that is an extremely uncommon feature of any projector, HDMI is almost exclusively used for this purpose.

No that won't work. You will need a vga to hdmi adapter. The cheapest option we have is this. https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/ADPSTT690274 Which will display up to 1080p resolution. You will also need a normal hdmi to hdmi cable to adapter from the end of this adapter to your tv.
