The light does everything that it says it does. The colours are vivid, the setup is easy and the app works well. However, there are obvious limitations. The brightness of the different colours seems dim and the bulb would be much better as a secondary light source. The 'white' normal light option is either glaringly bright or also a bit too dim. Like a daylight bulb to a low wattage bulb without the normal range in between.

Overall, a good novelty and being able to turn off the light with your phone is cool but not a replacement for all the light bulbs in your house just yet. I ❤️ xiaomi products - generally easy to set up & control and are well made, quality tech. This light took next to no time to set up &, shortly after, I was experimenting with commands through my google mini (hint try "change colour to rainbow" - courtesy of my 12yo). Using routines in Google Assistant has been great too.

Word of warning for those who may have bought xiaomi products from other countries (cough Aliexpress cough), their products are region coded - some will work in some regions & not others, some will work in all. I found this light doesn't work for apps set to China. Not a problem if you're using other xiaomi products from NZ/Australia or apple or controlling from Google Home but should be noted.

got this when it was as the daily steal and so far its been much more useful than my last rgb light bulb. the app actually works unlike some other brands, although if you have a large house you might want to make sure the lights are close to the WiFi router otherwise you'll have a notification saying the connection isn't very good. Bought it on the 24 hr sale, was a really good deal. don't think you can find smart bulb cheaper than this with the same quality. First time trying out smart bulb, worked pretty well with my google home set up at home. convenient to use, easy and straightforward set up. many mode to choose from. I'm gonna let it shine. Lightbulb does it's job. Also at times it can show it's true colours and cause a little rave in my room. Otherwise it's a light and it does quite alright.
