This requires 3 AA batteries to operate. I have been using 2 of this product for more than a year however I have not replaced the batteries yet. It lasts long with the batteries. good value and works well. i was having problem with the app to set it up but i like stand alone device without app and the default setting worked well anyway.

This is a really good product for anyone who gets up during the night and takes a while to get their head around things at that hour. I use it on the lowest light setting for my toilet and I've set it to stay on for 20 seconds (range is 15 to 60 seconds). Every movement I make keeps it on or if it turns off it will turn on again. The tone of the light is such that it does not seem to interfere with my night vision. I use the app to make my settings, which once set rarely needs to be used again. It uses low power Bluetooth, so keep your phone close when making changes. The app is not needed once set. The main part of the body is not attached to the smaller base but held in place by a strong magnet. This means that if you don't want to attach it to a wall you can just place it on a shelf, or if you have attached it to a wall (it's permanent) then simply pull the main body from the base and place it where you like.

Neat little light, reasonably easy setup for a Bluetooth device and easy to add to other Smart MI devices if you already have the app installed. I have a collection of the previous models, bought two of these. They are not as bright and the bluetooth is not that useful apart from extending the lit period, and brightness from extremely low, to fairly low.
