It's not a sennheiser 415 or 815T but value for money? hell yeah!!!. As a ex ABC sound recordist, I know sound and expecting anything great from a Mic being sold for under $100 is a pipe dream. This mic has great distance pickup. Using the camera AGC, it's proximity effect comes out superbly. Very happy. Others have commented on the supplied mount. It's soft, the mic wiggles about but that's the price you pay to minimise handling noise...put up with it. The wind gag works well. A great bit of kit. I was quite impressed by this microphone, especially for the money (we do everything on a tight budget). I used it last week to create a video on a science-related topic. We plugged it into my phone for voice-over audio, and then into my tripod-mounted Canon EOS 90D camera for filming in the lab. The audio came out well in both cases, and far superior to the audio from built-in mics on both devices. I had no trouble with the mount as indicated by some other reviews and can only conclude that perhaps the users were not tightening the disc to secure it to the camera flash shoe mount. The only thing that concerns me is the shock mount, the microphone seems to be a little bit too heavy for the shock mount to handle especially with the deadcat attached. Great mic for the price. Brought it for on camera audio, and it's a big upgrade from the built in camera mic. It's well built and comes with a windshield and shock mount. Works off the cameras power so doesn't require batteries (I'm using a Panasonic G7 and that works well but it pays to check if your camera supports it). Great mic for the price. Bought this model after seeing all the glowing reviews around the web, but it's not much better than my camera's in-built mic - the mic itself has loud static noise that makes the audio unusable unless corrected with software.
