I've just received this camera, and have not opened the box. I'm very dissapointed to see it advertised as 1080p video recording, but only 720p video chat. No mention of this restriction is on the PB Tech write-up, and I would have expected most people buy webcameras for video chat - not video recording. This camera can never get the white balance right. You'll either look jaundice, frozen or like you're burning in hell to the people on the other end. The autofocus is very unreliable, it prefers to focus on the background. There built in mic works ok and the field of view is about right when on a monitor. I bought this thinking that Microsoft would do a good camera, but that is clearly not the case. This camera can never get the white balance right. Using one as a motion detection security camera running on a Linux host. 1080 recording and live-streaming content where the objects are quite shadowed with intense light source from behind them and it does incredibly well for its price point, adjusting quickly to get clear facial recognition as the object passes through a door. Got this delivered quickly even under level 4 lockdown so appreciated especially as my old camera failed when I needed it the most.
This Camera, after a few small bumps with installation, works well.

I paid extra to get a good quality webcam. Very happy with ease of use, camera definition and microphone. Works well with Zoom. I paid extra to get a good quality webcam. Very happy with ease of use, camera definition and microphone. Works well with Zoom.

I searched many webcam specs and compared prices. I was as usual, tempted to go for the best. Every reviewer has a different opinion.
Instead I "shut my eyes" and went for a slightly-up from sock standard Microsoft webcam and I am VERY happy with the camera's performance and functionality.

(I have not used the built-in microphone yet - as I do online meetings with a Jabra Evolve 75 bluetooth headset) I searched many webcam specs and compared prices. I was as usual, tempted to go for the best. Every reviewer has a different opinion.
