This adapter saved me big time. My computer stopped working and I had the necessity to quickly access my data! This adapter allowed me to turn my big hard drive into a USB hard drive with no effort!!! I easily accessed my data and retrieved them with no effort! Definitively suggesting the purchase if you will find yourself in my same situation! If I really have to find a cons is that it is a little bigger than expected and I wish it was a bit sturdier and had a better choice in term of material and finishing. Device has been in constant use for a couple of weeks now as part of a media centre setup - it operates silently and at a good temperature, offering decent data transfer rates with no instances of connection drop-out to date.

Appeared to be a bit soulless and empty, like it was not quite complete. Thought I'd bought another suicidal piece of computer hardware but this time rather than counselling I put an older HD from an older desktop inside, and the two appear to have bonded nicely. Brilliantly easy to use. Comes with packing foam in case the HDD was slightly smaller. As it is tool free, it is not robust enough to consider putting it in a rucksack and heading on an expedition. But certainly convenient for use around the house, transport by car or an adequately packed and wrapped courier package. Brilliantly easy to use. Quick and easy, clip in, plug and play. No issues at all and great for getting access to all those older 3.5 drives lying around here. Currently using it as a 4gb backup drive. It does work as advertised but that's about it. Nothing to hold the drive in place so definitely not to be used as a portable drive. Feels very cheaply made. Used the product for a couple of weeks. I receive I/O errors on large transfers on my zpool. I have tried the transfer multiple times and it keeps happening. I have tried exactly the same transfer multiple times with the same disk connected directly to the PC via SATA, and that works without issue. I have tried different computers to make sure it's not the USB controller, but it happens on 3 different computers.
