Do not use as a boot disk
I purchased two of these and initially found them to be decent, however my boot disk just failed suddenly after only 18 months of fairly normal home usage. Apparently this is a common fault for NV2 drives (google stornvme event 129). This issue might be fixable(?) with a reformat but I will have to spend multiple days extracting data from a sluggish drive before I find out, and I already had to buy a replacement.
Such an early failure is pretty unusual for solid state storage. I would agree with reviewers who say this is an acceptable cheap secondary drive only. Use as a boot disk at your own risk.
Fast SSD for Good Storage Needs
Good product and decent value for an NVMe SSD. It is pretty straight forward in providing up to nearly 1TB of storage and has fast transfer speeds.
Pretty amazing for a laptop upgrade and highly recommended when you are in a tight budget.

not as backwards compatible as it claims !?
I can't speak to the performance of this drive as I couldn't get it to work, plugged into an attachment for my Raspberry Pi 5 it didn't show up at all.
The nice bloke at PBT did give me a refund - which I put towards a suitable replacement which was PCIe v3 -
and it worked superbly which showed there was nothing wrong atall with my setup and led to the conclusion that THIS drive is NOT as PCIe v3 compatible as it claims to be.

This Kingston NV2 500GB M.2 was used to replace a faulty (6 year old) Toshiba 256GB SSD. The Techs at PB Tech recommended it, so it was a no-brainer - because they should know. Really happy with the job and no issues so far.
