Xiaomi Redmi Buds 4 Lite True Wireless Earbuds - Black

I originally bought these literally not expecting anything. Oh boy was I ever so wrong (in a good way!). Please read the full review, I'm one of the few people who actually do good and detailed reviews here :)

Pros:
- BT 5.3 so low latency, strong bandwidth (connection) and somehow lower power consumption (hence the long battery life for these small things.) Mouth movement matches with audio so there is literally no delay.
- Extremely tiny and light. With the case, it literally fits in the palm in my hand and I wonder how its so tiny (see photos).

- Fast Pair, bring the earphones close to a compatible phone and you'll see a prompt pop up on your phone and tap pair. My phone from 2021 didn't have Google Fast Pair but my sibling phones from 2023 did, so take note, otherwise connect via Bluetooth as normal.
- 5 hours per charge, can confirm.
- Despite its small size, they sound so good (not studio grade obviously!) but they sound really good, you would think they are Apple Airpods but on a budget?
- Unlike other wireless earphones I've used in the past, these don't have an annoying whirring(?) sound that plays when there is no audio.
- The earphones charge quickly in the case and the case charges via type C. The case doesn't take that long to charge, about 30 minutes from 0 to 100%.
- Magnetic lid so it closes securely.
- Microphone sounds decent, not amazing though, better than my phone microphone I can say.
- Charging case has magnets inside so your earphones can magnetically snap into place without losing connection to the charging contact points in the case for the earphones.

Cons:
- Included charging cable is so tiny (Type A (Male) to Type C (female))
- The small hinge seems questionable to me, haven't had any problems with it so far but please take care, just in case.
- The included manual isn't specific enough which really surprised me given that I have bought Xiaomi products before.
- For me (not sure if this was just me or for everyone) there is a plastic film on the stem of the airphones by the charging points you absolutely need to remove to charge the airphones. Nothing wrong with the plastic but it doesn't show/mention anything about a plastic film in the manual.

How to setup:
1. Open the box
2. Get the product out
3. Open the case of the earphones
4. Take both of the earphones out of the case
5. REMOVE THE PLASTIC FILM OFF THE STEMS OF THE EARPHONES
6. Put the earphones back into the case
7. Charge the case with the earphones inside for like 10 minutes
8. Take the earphone case off charge after 10 minutes
9. EITHER:
9.1. Bring the case by the phone and use Google Fast Pair
9.2. Take both earphones out and open Bluetooth settings and find: Redmi Buds 4 Lite
10. Connected, enjoy.

Do I recommend this? Of course! This also come with a 6 month warranty from Xiaomi (not PBTech) so make sure you keep all the contents and the box up until 6 months incase something does go wrong with the product. For this price, its just so good it can replace the more expensive options.

Like usual, Xiaomi didn't fail to deliver! To be honest, I wasn't expecting much at all, but these seriously surprised me. Been using them for a good few months now as well, so they're lasting well!

I use my earbuds mostly to hear speech, I do not listen to music much. For my purposes these buds fit the bill, spoken word sound quality is excellent and battery life meets my needs of 8+hours outside the case. I'll give these a 3 out of 5. They're great for listening to sounds while I work. They have some decent bass, as long as they're in your ear properly, which leads me to my main issue with them, they're not quite the right shape for my ear, so they can become loose or even fall out. I'm also not a fan of the soft touch sensors. The earbud becomes loose, then my music pauses when I adjust them. Then, the buttons don't work when I try to resume my music. It's a bit annoying, hence the 3 stars I'll give these a 3 out of 5. They're great for listening to sounds while I work. Honestly, I bought these as cheapie things to use when working but they've surprised me. They've got a crap ton of bass for what they are, they sound good overall the mids and top ain't totally crushed.

I have previously really liked the Redmi Buds 3, cycling through many pairs, so thought I'd try these. The earpiece is weirdly large, so does not fit in my ear canal. The base is also too strong, and not adjustable. These are great for phone calls from my desk, but would not recommend for activity. These were easy to pair, build quality is good and sound is ok but gets a little scratchy when trying to make them louder.
The volume was quite disappointing as I needed to set them at full volume to be able to hear them at a reasonable listening level, and then it sounds a little scratchy.
At lower volumes they sound nice but the volume is so low it can get drowned out by general office noise (which isnt that loud).

Bought this pair after my old pair went through the wash and was unresponsive. Needed something cheap, quickly and super happy with these earbuds. Pairing is easy and sound is great for watching Netflix, youtube etc. Sometimes alittle too basey for watching purposes but probably a positive feature for music lovers(?)
