I've used dozens of small KVM's and they do always have quirks. This one is 98% awesome and best I've used aside from big rack mount KVMs for 10x the price. Very fast to switch and the remote button is very cool. Monitor always switches flawlessly, even during boot and when PC is off - so easy to get to BIOS unlike some other KVMs I've used. Occasionally the keyboard and mouse don't switch, though just switching back/forth again and it will be sweet. Overall amazing for price and great addition to my PC workshop!I've used dozens of small KVM's and they do always have quirks. Great KVM, works very well and pretty much ready to go out of the box.
Fiddling can be done, and is quite easy.
Does only support the standard 3 button mouse, and not gaming mice so be aware if you have more than 3 buttons on you mouse it does get unhappy.Great KVM, works very well and pretty much ready to go out of the box.

Actually, I am grossly underusing the capabilities of this sophisticated device, as I only use wireless keyboard-mouse sharing (because my PCs spread over multiple displays).
My connections are: a single keyboard-mouse dongle into the device USB port and just the purple USB connector into each PC.
But this oversimplified set up works very well, with control switching over instantly on pressing the small remote selector button.Actually, I am grossly underusing the capabilities of this sophisticated device, as I only use wireless keyboard-mouse sharing (because my PCs spread over multiple displays).

I am using this to switch between my work laptop (Sony Vaio) and my personal Toshiba laptop. It really is great, plugged it in and it went perfectly without any setup. It has a single button on a wire which I keep on my desk to switch, everything else is down the back in a cable tangle. The unit has heaps of keyboard control stuff but I haven't needed that.I am using this to switch between my work laptop (Sony Vaio) and my personal Toshiba laptop. So far I have had absolutely no problems with this, it works exactly as specified. Of course I may have just been lucky, but I have connected two desktop PCs to a single monitor, mouse, keyboard and headphones without any problems, and can now flick between them at the press of a button. Very useful for saving desk space!

Took a lot of fiddling about to get it working properly. Laptop did not like the power draw on the USB - had to try several ports before it was happy. Tip: turn off "Mouse Emulation" if your mouse wont work through this thing.Took a lot of fiddling about to get it working properly.
