Ensure you've tightened the screws that increase the counter-balance weight. Correctly done it'll lift the monitor and make it freely adjsutable. Not calibrated it'll just sink down.

We would not recommend this stand as it is designed for monitors from 13-32"

Yes, it holds my 34 ultrawide fine. which is 6.4 kg without stand, might struggle a bit with 8.7kg unless you really tighten the bolts on the end swivel real tight. Arm is solid but the swivel at the end of the arm basically needs to be really tight.
