Features

VDSL/ADSL AC1600 WiFi Gigabit Modem Router

The VDSL/ADSL AC1600 WiFi Gigabit Modem Router offers a range of connection options and networking features designed to suit all of your communications needs. Connection to the Internet is achieved via the VDSL/ADSL modem for connection to DSL today, Fibre to the Node NBN tomorrow or the Gigabit Ethernet WAN port for a possible fibre connection in the future. With carefully developed hardware and software features, this router ensures that it is optimised for use today and well into the future.

With an AC WiFi access point delivering super-fast WiFi speeds, users will be able to take their wireless networking to the next level. The 5GHz AC WiFi can be used for prioritising high bandwidth activities such as streaming media around the house and the 2.4GHz WiFi N can be used for everyday online activities

With 4 high speed wired connections using the Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports and the ability to share a USB hard drive and the stored files with connected users, the NF8AC is the ideal hub for your powerful home network.

ADSL Today. NBN/Fibre Tomorrow

With the Australian NBN moving towards "Fibre to the Node", homes will require a VDSL connection to deliver their high speed Internet. VDSL can provides data rates exceeding 100 Mbps in both download and upload speeds, meaning it can take advantage of the speeds offered with the NBN

High speed AC WiFi

This router creates an instant dual band WiFi hotspot for users to connect to. The latest AC WiFi technology is supported at speeds of up to 1300Mbps on the 5GHz frequency for prioritising high speed traffic such as online gaming, streaming data and movie files. VDSL performance is fine but the wifi is terrible, especially the .ac performance at 5Ghz. At 5 meters I dropped to ~70Mbps... better to stay on .n at 2.4 - in the end I use it just as a VDSL modem and have another wifi router to do the job.

Seems to not have that good a range compared to my six year old old CNET modem and instructions were not clear I could not understand and in the end my IT nerd son had to figure it out my internet supplier technical department couldn't either. The card with the code for the modem and password was ok size but the writing so tiny it was hard to read.. Why make it so small? It says ready for optical cable but my son says you still need an intermediary box.

So far not having much joy with this router 1) Wireless range is not great due to the internal antenna 2) Keeps on dropping the internet connection be it wireless or lan at will which requires a reboot of the modem. I suggest this one instead TP-Link Archer D7

Very weak wireless signal, even with a reflector added behind it, so I turned the wifi off, and connected it to the wifi of my old router. Doesn't make sense to pay this much for what is effectively a modem lacking a functional wifi service.

This router has done a great job so far. It was very easy to setup and have not had any problems. There wifi signal for the .ac signal is fairly weak compared to the other signal (forgot the official name) but when I am in the part of the house where it drops, it connects to the other band.
