I purchased this, in a hurry, as my earlier model TPLink AV1200 died. As there was no replacement AC1200 units available, I decided on this.
Unfortunately, this model had intermittent, but constant internet drop-out issues (about 8 times, over 9 days; 2 days running, it occurred twice). Sometimes the modem's internet light would be off, & others, still on; but 'net connectivity, with either of my PCs, was down. LAN worked perfectly.
Returned it, when PBTech had the AC1200 back in stock.

My old VDSL modem / router died one day and I had to look for something to replace in a hurry and on a tight budged.
I got this TP-Link and I am happy with it. It took no time to plug line and power in and off we went surfing internet.
We don't have dense WiFi around our house, so we don't need to compete for channels and are happy with 2.4GHz.

I use this little cheap router for over 99 months and I can not complain at all. Very easy to setup. So you are not IT guru there is nothing to be afraid of. The setup wizard will take you through step by step, easy and quick. For those more advanced users I was really surprised by the functionality of this little router. I've chosen it based on positive reviews, but it overcame my expectations. Definitely recommend. Read through manufactures web site to get the idea what you getting and update the firmware asap to newest version. A good basic modem and cheap however I feel you get what you pay for. Have had to power cycle the modem every few days to get wireless working properly, it always stays connected to devices but after being on for a while seems you can't get and data flow or begins to load pages very slow.
