ASUS ZenScreen MB16AMT 15.6" FHD Portable Touch Monitor

I recently purchased a portable touchscreen monitor with high expectations, especially due to its unique features such as touch functionality and a built-in battery. However, I am quite disappointed with the limitations I have encountered while using this product.

One of the main drawbacks is that in order to utilize the touch screen and auto screen rotation features, the monitor must be connected to a PC via USB-C. One of the main drawbacks is that in order to utilize the touch screen and auto screen rotation features, the monitor must be connected to a PC via USB-C. Unfortunately, this USB-C connection does not provide power to the monitor, meaning I can only enjoy these features when the monitor has sufficient battery life. Once the battery begins to drain, I am forced to switch the connection to HDMI for charging purposes. However, this HDMI connection does not support touch screen functionality or auto screen rotation.

Considering that this product specifically appeals to consumers seeking a touch-enabled monitor, I find it unsatisfactory that the touch screen and auto rotation features are heavily dependent on the battery life. It would be more convenient if these features could be accessed consistently, regardless of the power source.

Overall, while the portable monitor offers a unique set of features, the limitations I have encountered in terms of its touch functionality and power dependency have left me disappointed. I hope that future iterations of this product can address these shortcomings to provide a more seamless and user-friendly experience for consumers like myself.

I bought this at the beginning of the year (2020). When I upgraded my laptop to a Lenovo and had USB-C to USB-C connect, the battery on the screen has never run out. (With my previous laptop the screen lasted 6-8 hours depending on settings).

The touch screen works well. The only downsides are: the case can be a bit bulky as a stand if you have limited space to work. Sometimes the screen connects straight away and works in seconds, other times it takes turning it off and on to get the screen and laptop to recognize each other. When it comes down to it, If you travel between workspaces frequently and would like an extra screen this does the trick.

I bought myself this screen during Black Friday Sale for $699. It is worth the price and works fine.
Little bit mucking around with the drivers to get the auto rotate to work etc.
Asus software for the screen keeps crashing every time you reconnect the device, but most of the time it stay's plugged in anyway so it doesnt bother me.

The USB C connection cable socket on the screen side is a bit worrying though, after just a month of use it's already starting to show signs of wear and the cable does not sit in the socket firmly any more. I bought myself this screen during Black Friday Sale for $699. It is worth the price and works fine.

I have now had 2 of these monitors and they both are faulty!!!

The first one worked really well for almost 1 week. It was easy to set up and I thought it was brilliant. BUT, then, it just stopped working. Yet, a 'green' light was always displayed. The menu did not activate and, while the computer could detect the monitor, the monitor did not display anything.

So, I ordered another one, thinking that it must just be a fault with this one. I thought, what are the chances that I would have a problem with a replacement monitor of the same model. Obviously, this is creating a huge inconvenience as I needed this for remote working during lockdown. Asus can never compensate me for the lost productivity or the time spent trying to troubleshoot or the hassle organising the returns etc, and that is most frustrating. With PB Tech also unable to process 'returns' at the moment, during lockdown, I'm also out of pocket for a considerable amount just now.

Never would I buy another ASUS product again. I'm completely put off by this experience.

Then 12 months later (July 23) I took it on my next 3 week vacation and it kept shutting off after around 15 to 20 minutes use so I ended up leaving it in my laptop bag. Now it won't last for longer than 15 mins after charging for 24 hours, that's if I can actually get it to turn on!

The Stylus that comes with the product does not allow me to draw using the screen which I need to do often. The stylus only acts as a finger.
I have tried other stylus' and I have yet to find one that works.

I was amazed that the screen I ordered on Friday night turned up in my office in Whakatane on Monday morning! Well done BP Tech!

I'm really happy with the quality of this product and how easy it was to use - literally just had to plug it in and turn it on. I bought this three days before COVID-19 lockdown so I could have a second screen for my work laptop. There are a couple of additional benefits to this screen that make it worth it:

1) it can be powered by the same USB C cable that delivers the video signal and sound (subject to your laptop supporting this)
2) it has a mini-HDMI port, allowing you to connect many kinds of devices to it including phones
3) it has a built in battery

Love the fact it doesn’t have to be plugged in to power and the flexibility of being able to take it everywhere but the touchscreen doesn’t work with any of mine or my families touch screen computers so not work the money at all.
