I've been using this monitor for a couple weeks with a Dell XPS 15 running Linux, it replaces a Dell P2415Q. My main use is software development work - lots of text - and it's in a room with a window that occasionally lets in a fair bit of light. This monitor provides a much better viewing experience than the P2415Q - it seems sharper despite the pixel density being very slightly lower, has better contrast, is more resistant to glare, and has a nice thin bezel.

As a docking station, it is very nice to just have the one USB-C connection between the laptop and desk for power, display, and USB. This laptop is rated at something like 120W, but in practice the monitor provides plenty power to run it even with CPU-intensive loads and keep the battery charged up. When running the display over USB-C, there is a setting on the monitor to trade off between "High Resolution" (actually high frame rate) and "High Data Speed". When the monitor is in High Resolution mode (the default), the downstream USB connections on the monitor will only provide USB 2 speed. In High Data Speed mode, the downstream ports provide USB 3 speed but at 4k resolution the display will only do 30Hz refresh rate. For my text, that's fine, but may be a concern for some folks.

Bought to use with an M1 MacBook Pro so had some lingering compatibility concerns. No need, everything worked straight off the bat - plug USB-C cable into laptop and go. Without opening the lid. Yes, it is charging.

if you are into photo editing or just general working with spreadsheets, this is the right tool for you. DCI-P3 colour space is excellent for photos and the 4k screen gives you good screen real estate to work with spreadsheets etc. Would definitely grab a second one if it goes on sale. if you are into photo editing or just general working with spreadsheets, this is the right tool for you. Text looks great on this in macOS. macOS does native HiDpi scaling - I dial this down one tick so that it has the equivalent real estate of 2560x1440 (the default is 1920x1080). You can of course run it with no scaling but everything is too small for me in that mode. I'm a programmer and terminal and VSCode look great on this!

The USB-C charging works without complaint on my 13" MBP. It could stand to have more USB ports - 2 USB-A on the rear and a USB-A and USB-C on the side is good, but more would be preferable. Once you hook up webcam, DAC, yubikey, and a USB ethernet adapter you're maxed out.

Using with an M1 Mac the USB bits sometimes need you to power cycle the monitor to work. The internal hub is USB2 (ie 480Mbit/sec) so you might not want to chain a NAS or an eGPU or whatever.

Currently in the process of returning this, bought 2 of them and none will work with the supplied (or even a separate Belkin) USB C cable. I keep getting the infamous "no usb type-c signal from your device" message when I plug in the cable. Seems there's some weird issue going on. Display port works, but I only have one DP on the Asus Mini PC and the rest are USB C ports (x2) neither of which work with the monitor. PBTech's returns crew have apparently got my mini PC to work with another monitor over USB C so it has to be my monitors.
What a frustrating waste of time and energy.
Expensive mistake so far.

Nice big screen, sleep design, great resolution. The usb-c cable disconnects and slows down often, when macbook is attached to the screen. Needs a faster usbc cable but otherwise ok. This is a fantastic monitor. Using with my MacBook Pro as a single-cable setup. Wakes up quickly and reliably, doesn't kernel panic (like some other USB options I've tried). Really crisp picture, lots of colour configuration options.

Bought two of these for work flow, works great for that. Text looks sharp and heaps of screen space with thin bezels. Wouldn't recommend for gaming unless you're happy with framerate being capped at 60hz. Bought two of these for work flow, works great for that.
