Spent a lot of hours downloading everything off the old phone. Most of the apps wouldn't work after using switch. Ended up uninstalling then rdinstalling most of them and then they worked.

I bought this for my son's birthday.
I didn't want an entry level phone, but also didn't want to spend nearly $1000 on something he could lose at school.
This phone was the perfect balance. It does everything we need and is a great phone.

Was forced to buy a new phone (old one Samsung J2 Pro) as it did not work in Australia after they stopped 3G. New phone easy to get data from old phone and operation is very similar. (1) First, note: there are two versions, 4G-capable and 5G-capable. Obviously the 5G costs more but not a lot more and if you get it on special it might cost no more at all. Very much recommend 5G if you are keeping the phone for years (see (2) below).
(2) Good price for a phone that is OS-supported for the next 6 years, by which time it might need replacing anyway, due to eg failing battery (battery is non-removable).
(3) Memory is expanable. Splash-proof. (4) The A16 is as of writing the latest generation in the A series (i.e. 6th); the '1' signifies it is one step above the cheapest in the range.
(5) Transferring data and apps from a prior Samsung Galaxy is easier than previously - a direct wifi connection can be set up between the two phones. Still takes several hours, and ours crashed at 91% completed. Fiddly to resume the process and following the intructions didnlt work. (had to restart the whole process and it then prompts you to resume from 91%.) All in all a bit clunky!
