I purchased 3 of these. One stopped working in a week and another fell apart and left the plug in the end of the phone within a couple days. 1 works. I wouldn’t recommend these. This lead promises to be tough and robust - time will tell! We bought it as we have had three previous iPhone leads (including Apple original) that simply chaffed at the input lightning plug due to hanging on a mobile device. Not only inconvenient but dangerous as the last broken lead over-heated and melted, luckily not damaging the device! So we needed a really tough/robust lead with protected connector that would not suffer the same fate. The PB Tech assistant was helpful and recommended the Momax Tough Link as a solution: so far so good with no obvious sign of any wear and tear after only 2 weeks! I have used it in many situations and the the thing that wraps the cables is super useful but the chip broke and separated from the black wire so yeah but would definitely buy again. TBH I bought this because it was on special (opened box) and was cheaper than a standard cable. But a good idea if, like me, you have a use for the cable where it is going to be jiggled round a lot or at risk of having things dropped on it. If that's what you need, I'd recommend it. It's less flexible than a standard cable so takes up a bit more space in a bag or pocket, but that's not a big deal. Got this for my Mum, who's cables constantly weakened, twisted and broke on the ends. This cable is very strong and conveniently has the ends reinforced with semi-hard plastic.
