As a long time Logitech trackball user (several M570s up to now) I was hesitant buying the MX Ergo as it was so much more expensive than my previous devices. However I can see where the extra cost has gone as the MX Ergo is solidly constructed with a few nice touches that make me feel that what I paid was justified. Dual input (Bluetooth & USB unified wireless) is a nice touch and the DPI selector is great for detailed work. The extra weight of the angle plate at the base gives the MX Ergo a reassuring heft and the finish is much nicer than the plastic of my previous M570.

It doesn't take long to get used to a trackball. I don't think I will ever be quite as fast with it as with a mouse but the difference is slight, plus it's awesomely quick with dual screens because you can spin the ball (and therefore cursor) right across from one side to the other. And I'd gladly swap a little speed for comfort.

This is a perfect replacement, very well designed. And in my opinion suited well for CAD and Photoshop work especially with the programmable buttons. Great upgrade from M570, and love the 20 degree tilt feature (note that it's either 0 or 20 degrees, nothing in between - the blurb is a little misleading on that)
Only used for about a month so far, so can't comment on battery life but it certainly charges fast.

This is my 3th Logitech trackball over 10 years. I am buying this trackball as a spare because it was on special. I thought it would take me longer to get used to trackballs but I ended up getting a second one for home a few days later. Thumb operation is super intuitive and even gaming is no problem. Best of all, it seriously helped reduce my wrist pain (YMMV of course). Overall highly recommended.

The only drawback is no place to store the dongle on the mouse itself, but it's hefty so I wouldn't want to carry this thing anyway. I have been a fan (and user) of trackballs instead of mice for many years.

My previous Logitech trackball dies through overuse, and I replaced it with the MX Ergo.

I didn't think I would like this mouse when I first picked it up.1 hour later I don't know how I ever got anything done without it. Great mouse, the wireless dongle loses its connection every morning. Little annoying. Sigh. I especially like the ability to tilt the mouse and change the cursor speed with the click of a button. It took me only an hour to get used to it. You just need to take your thumb off the ball before clicking something. It's good to alternate between different mice. It can collect dust so it's good to keep a towel over it when not in use. Otherwise it can affect the trackball. All in all, it really helps with my wrist fatigue. I especially like the ability to tilt the mouse and change the cursor speed with the click of a button.
