So I have spent a lot of money at PB tech over the years and never once returned anything. But the problems with this headset were just too big and too frequent to put up with, especially after spending a bunch on it. I explained this to the staff to which they appeared to be offended when I asked for my money back. After only 1 week of use, and being in perfect condition, I was charged "restock fee". Obviously it's my fault for the headset not tracking and various other problems. So mad and disappointed with how you treat customers. The Cosmos has a quality feel to it. Unfortunately it suffers from severe controller tracking issues which means you can only use it in certain light conditions. This is a well known flaw with the product line. The flip up face is a great idea but the shallow angle of the halo strap sets the headset at an angle to you face leaving a big gap along the bottom of the headset. This also have the effect of not finding the sweet spot causing strain to the eyes. It is such a pity because the display is crisp with vibrant colors and great for text. The earphones work well with good sound. I so wanted the Cosmos to be good based on my great experience...view more The Cosmos has a quality feel to it. The earphones work well with good sound. I so wanted the Cosmos to be good based on my great experience with the original Vive. And my Oculus Rift S gave me confidence that inside out tracking works. However I was wrong. If HTC used the comfort of the old Vive, the solid inside out tracking of the Rift S and the amazing displays of the Cosmos, well then they would have a clear winner. Unfortunately the tracking and comfort lets it down and I can not recommend this product.
Tracking is fine on many games and programs Expert+ on Beat Saber is playable and did not experience major tracking issues in a well lit room with white walls.
Firmware upgrades have managed to make tracking and prediction when not in range of cameras much more usable.
Steep price compared to Oculus Rift but much better than sending data to Facebook for advertising

The Cosmos is an amazing headset all the setup is easier and not needing to have base stations is an advantage for smaller areas.
But on the downside for the same reason sometimes the tracking isnt 100% with some lighting levels but im sure this wont be to bad when they release the base stations for this headset which should make the tracking very reliable.

Great headset, fantastic display. Overpriced for what it is and the tracking on the controllers needs a bit of work. Luckily I don't use the controllers that much as I play flight and race sims. Had money to spare.
If the index was available in NZ even with the extra cost it would have been my first choice, better tracking, better fov, and refresh rate. But I still love the cosmos! Second best headset out there at an overpriced rate.

Working flawlessly so far. No problems with tracking at all in various lighting conditions so can assume the issues reported by others have been fixed with firmware/software updates. But of common sense required there. VR has come a long way from my first headset which was a Oculus DK2.
I think the tech is not mature yet, but after a week of playing with the Cosmos it's certainly at point where it's perfectly enjoyable experience.

Sometimes tracking can get a bit confused, normally only when your head is close to the ground. Recomend buying rechargeable batteries for the controllers. Brought this to play elites dangerious... Wow what a game changer. Having a X570 mobo and a x5700 I tried the HP reverb and after two days of trying to get it to work returned it and purchased the cosmos instead worked straight out of the box ,loving it. First vr set I have bought, i can see what others mean when they say the tracking is 100%,
When aiming down sights it has trouble picking up the 2 separate controllers.
Your hands need to be held a good distance apart for them to be pick up properly

Using the visual tracking with bows and guns makes it quite hard to aim, because of the inaccuracy when moving one hand in-front of the other. Otherwise no issues, make sure you have a big play area to enjoy it the most. Was a bit worried about the reviews in regards to the tracking but I have not experience any tracking problems thus far (1 months) use. Was a bit worried about the reviews in regards to the tracking but I have not experience any tracking problems thus far (1 months) use.
The resolution is good but the inside-out tracking is awful . Controllers constantly lose connection , especially when close to the ground or close to your face which rules out basically any game when you use a bow or any two handed firearm . HTC support have been useless so far and seem to refuse to admit this is just a limitation of the inside-out technology.
