A great upgrade from a DS214play
Upgrading from a Synology DS214play created a very noticeable improvement in the responsiveness of the DSM and apps connecting to the NAS. Very Easy upgrade, pulling the disks out of one and putting in the other. Running stock at the moment and will will look to expand as I need to.
A bit pricey for a pice of home kit but very good at what it does.

Awesome product great for home network
I've been wanting to buy a NAS for a long time now and been researching other brands. But finally bought this one I've only been impressed with the Proformance and reliability with this product. I got it on a shop display price so even better. I run 4 X 16tb seagate ironwolf pro's in my DS923+ and it runs like a dream. Thanks Team PB Tech HM for your support...Ash HM.
Utilising redundant hard drives
Our server run out of space so took the two 10Tb drives and replaced them with four 12 Tb units. This was an excellent use of the old drives that were only a couple of years old. We now have a back up that was really easy to set up and run and gets our most precious data off the server.
Works really well
I had to wait a little to assemble all the components for my network. NAS, switch hub, hard drives etc which gave me time to research the setup on YouTube. There are some really excellent tutorials available which made the setup process pretty straight forward and it all went very smoothly. Actually the data transfer to the NAS over the network was faster than I had expected. It also runs quite cool and I haven't noticed any issues with heat. It is positioned on the other side of a wall, away from my computer so I don't have to put up with drive noise. Overall delighted with this purchase.
