Panicked slightly when I read that review just as I received mine in the mail. If it WAS TRUE then why on earth would you ever accept it? You would go straight back to the retailer to complain. Yes on the box it states the model is 4GB by HP, but when booting up into BIOS it recognizes a 8GB module, meaning it was modified by either HP or PB. I really don't understand these types of reviews, "4/5 but the car didn't come with tyres, its ok though" - like who in their right mind does that? Apt performance for document work and web browsing. Succesfully updated to Windows 11 a few days after purchase, was very seamless. Spoke to a salesperson in Manukau who explained that these units were upgraded in NZ instead of ordering different specs from HP directly due to shortages, but since PB is a HP Partner the laptop is still recognized as new and covered under manufacturer warranty. Apart from the tacky seal they put on afterwards, I honestly couldn't tell someone had been through the box. Still think it might be best if PB were to just cover up the '4GB RAM' on the box to avoid confusion. Apt performance for document work and web browsing. Plenty processing power. 15” screen makes it that bit easier to view content without squinting or needing glasses to see smaller print. being level entry laptop it has plenty power and can be expanded with out huge cost or having to buy another laptop. I’m writing this review in case anyone is considering this device to use with Linux.
I can confirm I managed to install Linux Mint 20 successfully.
Use a hardwired internet connection during the initial installation. During the post installation configuration phase the wifi drivers will be installed.

Very happy with the purchase which is working well so far and was reasonably priced. Easy to set up and use.
