ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 Pro (AX11000) Tri-Band WiFi 6 10G HyperFibre Router

It was a little tricky to set up, and I would recommend using the app to do it. But once it was up and running it has been great. I was surprised at how fast it was. 100% recommended. Recently purchased this (AX11000 PRO) as I was getting another purchase serviced at the Henderson express branch.

This upgraded my old non-pro AX11000, as ASUS refused to help resolve a firmware related issue. Purchased this last week (12/09/2024) and so far, it's resolved a lot of the headaches I had.
It increased our WiFi range by I'd say a good 3, maybe 4ish meter radius. Very robust & good build quality. It's heavier & larger than the older version, but does the job very well.

I will say, I spent a good hour-ish scratching my head trying to configure the WAN connection to the ISP.

The ASUS app only goes so far with the PPEoP set-up if you're a Spark NZ customer. I'll put some instructions below for those that stumble upon this review.

Pros:
- Set-up for Non-Spark customers is very quick & easy.
- Will more than likely extend your WiFi range (depending on your previous router)
- Supports very fast gigabit & hyperfiber connections. The Non-Pro gave me around 890Mbps down & 415Mbps Up output... the pro version increased that to 930Mbps - 512Mbps, so I'm gettting closer to my plans advertised speeds.
- Supports a ton of features for tech savy people like myself.*
- Has pretty RGB lighting that you can change (or turn off should you wish to)
- NAS Support is fairly decent.
- Dual WAN support.
- The ability to remotely access the Routers console both in & out of your LAN is amazing, if configured properly.
- Can communicate with both dumb & smart switches "better" (?) I'm not sure if that's the right word...
- Built-in advanced DoS protection.
- Uses AI to help secure & protect your network.

Cons:
- Set-up for Spark NZ customers is a bit confusing for the avergae user.
- The Router itself is fairly large & a bit "out there", so make sure you have an decent area to put it.
- WiFi (much like with every router) struggles with push the connection through large amounts of walls
- The admin console can be pretty intimidating for the average user. ASUS doesn't provide much help with this either.
- ASUS support is known to be pretty bad, especially in the AUS & NZ region.
- Your ISP will NOT support you with any issues relating to the router. Only the fibre ONT or wider network issues.

**For Spark NZ customers**

To set-up for connection, you wil need to do the following steps.

- Use PPEoP set-up
- Enter in the username & password (Can be found here:)
- Select no for any special ISP profiles
- Once set-up, login to the admin console, navigate to the "LAN" section and click the "IPTV" tab.
- Under "LAN Profile" you will need to select "SPARK" or "SPARK NZ"
- Click Apply

The router will restart, after a few seconds - a minute, the WAN light should change from orange to white.
