ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX6000 (AX6000) Dual-Band WiFi 6 Extendable Gaming Router

I purchased this router as it has a few advantages over the Asus RT-AX86U. But the thing looks like a reject from the early StarWars movies and certainly can not be described as discrete IMHO. It has a good GUI though, with plenty of options and is fast with good coverage, and very good reviews which is why I bought it.
Pros: Easy setup; Fast; Strong signal through 260m2 single storey house; Good GUI; Supports Merlin firmware; 2 x 2.5 Gb ports; WiFi 6

Bought this in recent BF sale as we had gone for full speed fibre but the supplied modem wasn't up to the job. We live in an older two storey house and sometimes connections were iffy but this thing is a beast.
It's physically large and the lights are a bit OTT but the ease of installation and reasonably straight forward software (considering it has a lot of settings) and the sharp price definitely made this a buy once, cry once experience. Had problems with my wifi connection as. Only getting around 200mbps for 3 years when i am a room away from the ISP modem/router. Little did i know that the ISP modem/router isnt wifi 6 compatible. I purchased this as it was highly recommended by their employee. Been using this product for about 3 weeks now, internet is never lower than 915mbps, with better wifi coverage around our house. Will surely recommend this to everybody

Hands down the best and fastest router I’ve owned. Read all sorts of reviews and waited months for it to come into the country but so glad I did. This router made sense given its features and pricepoint for a like-for-like upgrade from what we had before, but with WIFI 6.
Wifi coverage is good for a 3BR house. Good featureset for what you expect at this age of a router and price range.

Speaking of settings, I followed the PBTech guide (for set up via the 'ASUS Router app' by phone) but I think its not possible to set up the router this way as the app itself doesn't have the last part of the setting available to properly tag the VID.
To actually get your router set up: Follow the PBTech guide to get the router set up. Once you've reached the end and you still don't have internet connectivity...
...on a COMPUTER login to the router (192.168.50.1 by default), go into 'ADVANCED SETTINGS>LAN>IPTV'. Under 'LAN Port > Select ISP profile' select 'Manual setting' from the dropdown menu. Set the Internet VID: 10 PRIO: 0 and press apply. Restart the router just for safe measure.

Also check that the mobile app set the VLAN ID correctly when you're on the computer browser (Under 'ADVANCED Settings>WAN>Internet Connection>802.1Q) and make sure 'Special Requirement from ISP' is set to No (apparently having this set to 'Yes' can cause timeout issues with the ISP if your router begins experiencing connectivity issues).

Upgraded from an old Netgear router, and the difference is night and day. It never cuts out, the WiFi range is much better in our house, and the WiFi 6 speeds are fantastic. It is big and bulky, and expensive but it has definitely been worth it for us. I've had it 3 months now and have had absolutely no issues. It was very easy to set up, and has many advanced features like parental control, traffic monitoring, and for network prioritisation. Upgraded from an old Netgear router, and the difference is night and day. It never cuts out, the WiFi range is much better in our house, and the WiFi 6 speeds are fantastic. This Asus Rog has been a good investment for me. The internet speed is very good and it does not drop out any time. It was a good purchase. its a bit pricy but if you paying good dollars then you will get good product. Its mostly for gaming and in the current time buying all gaming gear and using in office is a peace of mind. I have a 2 level story house and the ASUS is sitting at the bottom floor and on 2rd floor the coverage is very good with having ASUS Router sitting in tiny enclosed mini study room.
