What a breeze - This system really is plug and play.

Wanted to put a network camera in a paddock shed, to keep an eye on young goats...

Checked out the pair on a couple of outlets in the house - Then put the second unit way down to a far paddock, where the shed shares power with the house.. At least 120 metres run... Up popped the camera - Magic.

I was able to get the pair to link satisfactorily but only on adjacent sockets (same circuit). At any distance the link comes up with a red light indicating poor connection. I have achieved good-to-modest performance in the same circuits with similar products before including this manufacturer. I know the technology is capable, but this pair, or this version, is a dud. Bought two pairs of this product which worked initially. One unit stopped working and required reset. This happened several times. Worked for a few minutes then stopped any throughput in spite of indicators all on Another seems to work intermittently in spite of the broadband speed check showing internet working normally. Will have to look for an alternative solution. Older TP link box working fine on same circuit, this is the one that the above were supposed to replace. Will have to replace the other pair. I used to own the 500AV version, then upgraded to these, not only was it just as easy to setup and install, but the quality of signal and speed improved straight away, better speeds around the house was what I was hoping for, and of course no cabling required great for a rental. Didn't work overly well on power points on opposite ends of the house and on different circuits, however, when place on the same circuit it does reach the advertised speed.

Fantastic solution to remove LAN cabling that was all over the floors between rooms. Now we have these Powerline units set up we can set up in our various rooms without tripping over cables. We have about 100MPS down and 30MPS up. Excellent for our purposes.
Just a note, check out the makers website for the process to use the rest button to synch up units.
We have set up 4 units out of a max of 8 according to the maker specs. Fantastic solution to remove LAN cabling that was all over the floors between rooms. This product is advertised as a 1Gbps powerline extender, but it does not reach 200Mbps on anything over 5 meters of house electrical wiring and it drops to under 100Mbps on wiring over 10 meters. It works, but definitely not as advertised. Do not buy. Moved into an older flat for study, which had patchy wifi through old walls.
Stops me from having a 20m ethetnet cable sitting in the hallways.

Works really well, internet speeds are the same as what we get at the router now. Across approx 30m of cabling on the same phase.
