I bought this thinking I could insert a SIM card and it would work, but you need a USB cellular modem. Apart from that, it seems like a great device. I purchased this product as I am staying long term at a site that requires a voucher code to be entered each week for the WIFI. My Playstation & Alexa could not connect as there was no way to enter the unique code on their UI. It took a few tries to get the unit set up properly, after this it is bang on. Very impressed given the age of the device and will definately recommend. I’m using it in AP mode to extend my current wifi.. as opposed to buying a dedicated wifi extender. So it def does the job but I do have to reset it every time I need to use it in one particular corner of the house. Frustrating to remember to turn it off and on but I don’t mind cos I only paid $40 for it .. it was worth it. I wanted this to pair up with our Huawei E173 stick modem. The stick modem is listed on the compatibility list for the product on the TP Link website, but our modem didn't work with this router. We ended up returning it and getting some usb wifi adapters for our machines instead. Other than not being compatible, it seems like a pretty small, powerful unit. Good price. Every time I turn the device on I need to unplug the USB 4G stick and plug it back in. Need to type very slowly when adding keywords to whitelist. Pre-sales support from TP-Link. Bought 2 units of this product recently prior to overseas trips. Very easy to use. They worked flawlessly in Asia countries that I went. I used 1 unit mostly on AP mode, and another unit on 3G/4G mode. Firmware update was easy. Gifted both units to people. Plan to buy again.
