Concealment was added in February 2016 to protect consumer product keys from being obtained and used by unauthorized infividuals.
The concealment panel consists of a small clear label with removable silver scratch off material that has been applied to conceal some or all the 25-characters of the product key.
When a consumer requires the 5x5 PID key they should remove enough of the scratch off so they can read the key underneath.
Even if all silver material is removed the clear label will remain.
Any attempt to remove or peel off the underlying clear label will result in damage to the COA which may render the product key unreadable. This security feature is by-design.
- Use a fingernail or coin to gently scratch the silver surface off.
- Do not use a tool, other than a coin, to remove the scratch off.
- Do not attempt to peel the scratch off layer off
- Only use enough pressure and force to scratch the surface of the silver ink.

Windows 10 pro is something that you should probably justify to yourself before you buy it. Whats the advantages over home edition anyway? Well, if you're someone that does programming or creative work, you might need some of the benefits pro offers (I did). But if its just to play games, do word and excel spreadsheets etc, or some other basic stuff, then I think there is little reason to need this version over home edition. Also: if you swap out your motherboard at any point you will need your license key that you get when you purchase this, so hang on to that. Otherwise you will have to buy windows all over again.
I just wanted a Windows 10 instance that I could run on ESXi and attach to my home DMZ for testing purposes. I was a bit worried that I'd buy a license and get half way through the install and then run into some Microsoft limitation on running the edition I had brought virtualised. No such issues with this version. It installed on Esxi fine, activated without any issues and cost a little less than buying Windows 10 Professional 64 bit through he MS store. There's probably still some limitation on on page 1,375 of the EULA that says you can't run it virtualised unless you sell your first born to MS for $2.50 - but there was no TECHNICAL...view more
