XGIMI Halo+ Full HD Android 10 Smart Portable Projector, 900 Lumens, Harman/Kardon Speakers

Wanted a 'portable projector' and this was the top of the class from my research. However, that is probably its worse quality. Maybe because it isn't plugged in I notice the big brightness drop and after 2 hours is getting to the end of the battery. But once it is plugged in I enjoy all the perks, brightness increases that I can easily watch it with lights on (same with unplugged but to a lesser degree), and it is portable, like a laptop WITH PLUG AND PLAY, that I can move it around the house and project on flat bare walls. Not sure about projecting on roofs in its user manual, but lying down and projecting 90 degrees with a 'makeshift setup' that leaves normal fan circulation works great but its design suggest this should not be done as the fan standing normally gets warm. As it needs to be plugged in for best/LONG use it kinda makes roof projection hard (keeping fan circulation free with its plug connection position). NETFLIX is not possible, annoying but I cast from my internet browser directly, otherwise it feels like a normal smart TV. Sound speaker is great, half the time I listen from my Sennheiser Bluetooth headphones. Auto adjust/auto keystone is the selling quality if you move it around as much as me because this is my/houses TV replacement. Yet to take it camping like the advertisement plausibly suggest makes me questions its possibilities. It works well with room lights but with low battery time that can not be charged by a portable charger you need powered camp sites. This is my new TV and 'lying down screen' that I splashed out on knowing that it is not adjustable like the Samsung freestyle but the specs/BRIGHTNESS/ plug&play made me buy it over other projectors. I also screw it into my camera tripods sometimes. If you know tech and are willing to spend in this price range, go for it, but this is where the lines blur between 4k projectors, OLED tvs etc.

Xgimi Halo+ is bright, responsive, image is crystal clear, sound is excellent, fan is quiet, keystone control is the cherry on top - set up anywhere, watch from any angle. No other way to watch movies. All apps work perfectly except the native Netflix app but there are well documented ways around this - ask google. Love the versatility of using it as a speaker during the day without projection while I work, really is an all-in-one. I’ve since moved to Australia and my projector has come with me in my carry-on luggage. We connect to our PS4 and gaming works really well not much lag, and we move it into the backyard and watch the footy or movies when friends come around. Definitely my best purchase this year (and I bought a Mini Countryman so that’s really saying something)! Stop reading and hit the buy now.

The quality of the image is so nice and the sound is perfect. I can use it as my TV because of it is also an android tv. But, you need to plug in with its adapter after an hour and half because it will dim once it is on battery low. But it is a good buy. Worth the price. Definitely a good purchase for the price. Better quality of picture than I thought it would have for a portable projector and great sound. Looking forward to watching some outside movies in bean bags with the grandies. Would highly recommend for a portable projector. I like that you can just charge it up and you are good to go to watch a movie and don't need a power source so definitely makes it portable. Definitely a good purchase for the price. Netflix is not certified. And their way to get around it using desktop manager app stopped working. That means you cannot watch Netflix on this. So of you want to spend your money to buy a projector and planning to stream your favourite Netflix movies or shows, you are out of luck. Something to be aware of. Tried contacting Xgimi support, but they do not seem to be interested sorting this out either.

We have been using our halo+ for about a month now and we think its great. Living off grid we charge it during the day and watch from the battery in the evening and we get a couple of episodes or a movie in for the charge so 2-2.5 hrs on battery. Awesome choice of either streaming straight from the net, from my laptop or flash drive.
Not great in a bright room but hey we watch late evening and night so no problem.
