I read many reviews before purchasing this printer. I wavered, and wasn't completely sold, as some reviews were dismissive.
My experience has been nothing but positive. I am really impressed with how easy the setup was, as my other Brother colour laser was overly complicated.
The print quality is great, and the printing is so fast from standby mode. It is a great compact design to sit on the desk and while all it does is print, it is so well worth it. The only minor bugbear is the deep sleep function which basically means you can’t use the printer wirelessly - as you need to go and wake it up, manually! This can be disabled. We just turn the printer off when not in use, which is easier. Other reviews have commented on this.

I got one of these to replace an ancient HP LaserJet that finally went to the great silicon graveyard in the sky. A shopping requirement was the toner carts needed to be cheaper than unicorn blood; I’m a bit over printer companies bilking you on consumables. Brother is not that company; the printer is a great price and toner isn’t nightmarish either. It’s pretty fast, too. I’ve knocked a star off for some annoyances - the setup for Wi-Fi is a little painful as inputting a password on it is … argh-worthy. What I needed for home - water resistant laser printing is an upgrade. Fast - but don't expect office speed. Note - comes with ink cartridge and not a scanner. My home currently only uses Brother printers. We find them to be excellent products - excellent for the price. Printer cartridges are also reasonably priced and good quality too.
