I would give this printer/scanner 5 stars for ease of set-up, and speed and quality of printing and scanning.
I have taken a star off though because the Brother cartridges are twice the price of a generic brand but if you use the cheaper cartridge then your warranty is voided, so they are forcing you to buy v expensive consumables. Bought the Brother DCPL3551CDW and the colour printing is blurred. B&W okay. The Brother help-line could not assist so we took the printer back to PBT who said, quote, "nothing wrong with it as there are no lines on the printed documents". They said they had no responsibility for its performance. We said under the CGA if the product is not of acceptable quality then we have the right to choose a refund. PB Tech disagreed and said they don't have to!

So far am happy with the printer. Being laser it is very quiet. It was easy to set up and install. So far is working fine on my network unlike the HP we had which used to be patchy mainly around the scanner which kept disconnecting. Colour printing seems more vibrant than the Ink Jet. I was attracted by the 4 year warranty and the fact that the call centre is NZ based. Can't comment on cost per print as not had it long enough but it should be better than the ink jet. I don't like the manual feeder as it only accepts one sheet of paper at a time and then it does not seem to detect it properly. Relatively easy to set up. Couldn't set up wireless printing direct from the machine though. It had to be set up from a computer connected to the machine via USB cable. Seems to print well. Had been using an old printer that spat out half hearted prints for weeks. My new printer has been working flawlessly for a month now. Fast, quiet and a low cost per print makes this a worthwhile investment for my home business. I did think it looked a bit big and fancy for home but I have no regrets. It sits on my desk, scanning and printing wirelessly to my computer very easily.

Took 10 minutes to set up to print. A little while longer to work out how to scan wirelessly. I think it was a program designed for the Brother printers, made it very easy. The cashback available on this printer at the time wasn't as painful as i thought it would be either.

Viewed online, drove to store and had it home and installed in less than an hour from viewing online. Simple, intuitive set-up. Used for home printing, but in short time I have this printer very happy with my purchase. Quiet with plenty of printing options. Great service from PBTech.
