Product wise, although the unit appears as reasonable quality HP has reintroduced the Ink Cartridge check precluding the use of Non OEM cartridges and does not permit the transfer of the originally installed cartridge into a second printer of the same model. My previous HP Laser Jet printers had the option to disable this validation check. The 9012 does not have this capability. This will be the last HP Printer I purchase as I am not prepared to pay the hefty HP Cartridge prices. As an aside I believe this practice of HP contravenes consumer laws.

The software is good, with the ability to print off other media like the cellphone very useful. Easy to set up and fast printing, I'd recommend this printer to those with school kids, and who do need something for casual printing. Don't know about ink refill costs, hence 4 stars.
Great Looking Printer and prints smoothly. Very quiet. If you intend to use third party cartridges, they MAY not work in future, so please check.

I replaced a Samsung Colour Laser MFC with this, and I’m impressed so far. Obviously it’s going to cost more per page being inkjet, but I don’t print huge volumes, key requirement for me is reliability and speed when I do want to print or scan. This HP printer delivers!
Much better than my previous Cannon printer that just stopped working. Have tried both normal printing and photos, both are of excellant quality.
Easy to use, does the job.
Prints great quality & from all devices well, however as most MFC are its not easy to get the scanning function working. Scan to usb works great tho. Still recommend this printer

Really happy with this printer. Set up was easy - all except for setting up an email address to send scans for - this seems over complicated. I'm still not used to the clunky noise it makes (it isn't loud) when it prints but I'm really happy with this printer. For the money I think it is very good value.
