JBL Charge 5 40W Portable Bluetooth Speaker with Built-in Powerbank - Black

Looked at installing big speakers etc. but this packs a punch and enough for the boat, beach and working outdoors in the garden (and i love my tower speakers). This has fallen into the salty drink twice now and no corrosion concerns after washing in the sink. Should get around to using contact cleaner... I've owned a couple of speakers before but after a week of having the Charge 5 I stand by my decision to fork out a little more.

This thing is insane, it sounds like a far bigger speaker than it is with rich bass and clear trebles. Battery just keeps going and going too, it took 4 days of listening for hours on end for it to go flat after coming out of the box. If you need a powerful, portable, amazing sounding speaker you can't go wrong with this, its not afraid to fill a medium sized room either. Plus water and dust resistance.

- For whatever reason the firmware doesn't allow for music playback via usb-c.
- Advertised 20hr battery life is halved when on full volume, especially with really bassy songs.
- Since all the woofers are on one side, it doesn't have 360 degree audio, sitting behind the speaker the bass becomes very prominent and overpowers the treble so make sure to have it facing as many people as possible on the speaker side.

The charge 5 is a interesting size, which still packs bass and loud mids and highs but also its able to counter the other factor which is weight and size. I love this speaker for the sound and battery life, lasts around a week of daily use. Probably 25 hours at 40 percent volume and sounds crispy when compared to my other cheaper speakers. I am currently listening "Good Old-Fashion Lover Boy" by queen with the speaker the the sound quality is incredible and bass absolutly superior than any speakers i had previously(my friend even said this speaker has a good bass). I bring this speaker everywhere I go including my workplace, when I'm doing sports, and also at home. This speaker is suitable for any condition and lasts long enough for the whole day. The JBL Charge 5 is alright for music. Thanks to its balanced mids, it reproduces voices and lead instruments with clarity and detail. As a result, it's suitable for listening to many different genres, and its graphic EQ allows you to switch up its sound to your liking. That said, as a smaller speaker, it doesn't bring a lot of rumble in the low-bass. The JBL Charge 5 is alright for music.
