purchased after lots of research into different options to get internet to sleep out. Turns out the old fashion way of wired over everything else is buy far the best option and cheaper over a router that would cost $100s. speed test over WiFi was 3ms ping download was 69mbs/s and upload was 16mbsp/s wired was 101mbp/s down and 21mb/s up and 2ms ping my internet plan is 100/20 so good results wired in purchased after lots of research into different options to get internet to sleep out. Needed a simple plug and play unit that didn’t require any great technical knowledge. This unit did the trick. One month in and there have been no issues with the unit at all. Good value (relative to what else is out there).

Pros: simple to use; multiple ports; compact unit; solid feel; great warranty

It's fast, reliable, energy efficient and has a Lifetime warranty, why would you bother with anything else. Nothing better than looking at a customers face when all those lights start twinkling. I have upgraded from an older 10/100 ethernet switch and the speeds on this one is amazing. Now I can see my wired devies using the full gigabit bandwith.
The product also feels very sturdy with it's metal construction and very easy to setup (just plug and play). The 2 green lights for each ethernet port blink green, which easily indicate what speed the internet is running.
I wished the power cable is on the same side as the Ethernet cables so would be easy to squeeze in the tight space I have in the wall wiring unit. I have three of these switches running in an educational lab environment and ports have failed on two of the switches - one of which was a replacement unit, the original having suffered the same fate. Having foolishly picked these switches thinking the metal case was some indicator of quality, I will be migrating off these appallingly bad Netgear units as soon as possible. Wanted to hardline to as many devices as possible, hooked into a bog standard spark fibre modem, powered up & done as simple as that - exactly as advertised, wish more products could do this!
