Great little switch, easy to install and use.
Great little switch. Just plugged all the devices in and used one port for the source internet from my modem and i was up and running. I used the switch to provide more hardwired ports for devices in my house.
Excellent value for money. I just wish i had bought the 16 port version, but I was a bit tight for space in the cupboard so had to settle for 8 ports.

Metal exterior is nice. Plug and play to get all the Ethernet ports in my house connected. My router only had 1 Ethernet out so this solved that problem.

Works as it should. Very smart, just plug in cables and it sorts it all out.
Does what it says it will do
This is an easy product to use and ideal for expanding the home-office LAN. It just sits in the corner of the room directing traffic without any problems.
Works exactly as advertised
Purchased for a home network, extending cables to a bedroom TV port and two office ports as well as various devices in the lounge - super simple setup and operation, no issues or questions.
Does what it has to.
It does exactly what is asked of it. Some switches (including some TP-Link ones) change LED colour if fastest rate communication isn't possible.
This product is NOT one of those - LEDs are just green for 1 GB/s, 100Mb/s or less.
If you want to debug patch cables or underfloor wiring that do not have all 8 cores working, invest in something better.

Power down Idle Ports
When a computer or network equipment is off, the corresponding port of a traditional switch will continue to consume considerable amounts of power. The TL-SG108 can automatically detect the link status of each port and reduce the power consumption of ports that are idle, resulting in up to an 72% reduction in power use.
Power Budget According to Cable Length
Ideally, shorter cable would use less power because of less power degradation over their length; this is not the case with most devices as they will use the same amount of power across the cable regardless of the length.
Easy to Use
The auto features of this gigabit switch make installation plug and play and hassle-free. No configuring is required. Auto MDI/MDIX eliminate the need for crossover cables.
