If noise is a concern you can consider a lower power fan-less model that may be quieter but will give you shorter time off mains supply.

If replacing the batteries, in this model you'll need a Philips PH1 screwdriver with a 125mm shaft, as the screws are set quite deep into the body. Also be sure to take accurate measurements of the battery dimensions if you can't source the same model battery by part number. For example, I could not source YUASA replacement batteries in an older unit so had to find an equivalent format by another manufacturer. I found Eaton badged batteries in this instance, but there are other manufacturers that market similar dimensioned batteries that would work. The tolerances for fitting the batteries are quite tight so you will want to get this right.

This is a very basic UPS but it is rare to find one at this price with Automatic Voltage Regulation. The fan does stay on for 24hrs when first plugged in but does eventually stop so be patient. Apart from that its been a great UPS for the month that I've used it. A great little UPS that you can set and forget, that helps protect equipment and keep the network up during power glitches and outages.
