Great Upgrade
I bought this card on sale to upgrade from my 2014 model 1060 Card. Benchmark reviews say an approx 137% increase in performance over the 1060. This card is definitely in a different class. I am running all my games at max video settings on 2160 x 1440 resolution. matched with an upgraded system it gives awesome performance with FPS between 120 and 200 depending upon the game. Some reviews say the card doesnt have a big enough memory bus etc but to an average user like me it is not obvious. I just see great graphics and smooth gameplay. No cons noticed at this stage..
The card I did not want but needed?
Bought as part of a new build replacing a 7 year old system with an RTX 1060 So performance wise it is So So much better.
I use the cuda cores for number crunching and they are so much better than the ones in the 1060. Also when rendering video it is an absolute winner compared to what I had.
it even runs cooler so happy as! have not even played with the over clock switch as it seems fast-enough for the work load going through it at the current time.
There are some down sides which are well documented eg ram and internal buss speed though from my point of view it is better than what I had.
My biggest gripe is the thickness of the car...view more
