FAQ's about Robot Vacuums

Running your vacuum at least every other day can be a great way to suck up the dust and debris. Keeping to a regular schedule can make it much easier to finish a full sweep each day as the robot dustbins can be a lot smaller than a regular plug-in vacuum.

Top features to keep an eye out for are:

  • Battery life: typically you'd want at least 30 to 45 mins for an average lounge coverage.
  • Auto-empty: look for vacuums that include an auto-empty base, these suck the dust into a larger dustbin so you don't need to empty as often.
  • Navigation & mapping: a vacuum with room mapping and custom naming can make it easy to schedule cleaning by area or send vacuum to a specific location.
  • Filters: if you have allergies, or are concerned with air-quality then keep an eye out for HEPA filter and rated models.
  • Suction power: keep an eye on the kPa (Kilopascals) rating to see the air suction strength, more is usually better but good brush and rollers can also affect pickup capability.
