This battery charger was purchased to replace my Energizer one that charged 3 types of batteries but unfortunately that one died after a crap battery leaked and shorted the charger. This battery charger was purchased to replace my Energizer one that charged 3 types of batteries but unfortunately that one died after a crap battery leaked and shorted the charger. This doesn't seem to be a problem with the Panasonic as it seems to be more intelligent and detects when bad batteries or non rechargeables are placed into it and refuses to charge the battery.

It was able to detect that 4 of my old Energizer batteries which I've had for over 5 years have deteriorated and refused to charge them which is great, so i threw them into the bin and got new ones.

The price is quite steep at $50+ but when you consider that 4 rechargeable batteries are around $20+ and you're paying only ~$30 then it's not a bad deal given that this charger seems very intelligent. It's also able to charge one battery at a time where as the cheaper Panasonic one can only charge in pairs.

This is a compact, easy to use AA and AAA battery charger. It has clear individual indicators for each battery showing change state and you can charge AA and AAA batteries at the same time. Vs the overnight charger, I'm glad I went with this option. The fast charge is much better than waiting overnight - for practicality (and convenience) sake. The indicator lights per battery are an awesome addition. Only thing to take note of, I found, was battery config if charging solo/odd numbers (detailed in the pamphlet that comes with; easily followed). Because I initially thought one of my batteries was a dud (different brand - recharging those, too) - until I checked pamphlet and put in correct slot for charging a solo battery - voila, issue solved. Bought these for my digital Cameras that use AA batteries.
Normally I use Alkaline primary cells as rechargeable cells, either NiCad or NMIH, simply won't work because the Camera's report them as 'low charge' and immediately shutdown.

These Eneloop's on the other hand work great.
It's only a week since I charged them up and installed them but the Camera's battery gauge is still showing 'full' where as every other brand of Rechargeable I've tried has been too flat for the camera's within 24 hours.

Highly recommend white batteries for remote controls like for TV or wireless keyboard and mouse or any Bluetooth connected devises in close range. Consume low power and last very long time between charges.

Quick smart charger check damaged batteries and prevent overcharging if you will forget to remove from power point. Full charge from 0% to 100% in 3 hours for 4 batteries or 2 hours for 2 batteries only. White batteries can be recharged up to 2100 time which will last you for a life time.

Please note:

If you need to high power devises like flash cameras to take photos or remote control toys – Black batteries are the best for this and will last longer than white ones. But they can be recharged up to 500 time only which will be enough for over 10 years of continues use.
