Haven't had them long so can't confirm how many recharges before they die but so far so good. I've been using this brand for over 7 years now. I can't find a better brand and model of rechargable batteries. There's literally nothing half as good in the market. Consistent power, longest lasting in uncontacted storage, and lasts longer than a Duracell of the same power, at full charge, in the same device! I've been using this brand for over 7 years now. These batteries are great. Powerful and keeps most of the gadgets running for a long time without having to recharge. Best choice if you want to save money from all the disposable batteries. These batteries are fantastic for use in anything which is used regularly (flashlights, toys, radios etc) and they can take a lot more abuse than regular rechargeable batteries.

Eneloop are worth the extra cost in many slow-drain applications like TV remotes, as normal NiMH batteries will go flat over a couple of months whether you use them or not.
Also nice to know that batteries you have charged and are in storage will actually have charge when you need them.
As they are better sealed, I'm pretty sure Eneloop batteries will also last longer / more charges than normal NiMh batteries too, which should pay off the extra price right there. IF you have a good charger for them, i/e/ don't damage them on dumb chargers that overcharge them etc. The Panasonic Smart charger is the best I've found so far. Really enjoying the batteries we got with the Eneloop charger. Great, fast charging....we have other rechargeables which work in the charger but the Eneloop batteries charge so fast and last for soooo much longer. Seriously considering buying another set.
