AMD Ryzen 9 5900X CPU

Nothing much to say except it is an excellent CPU. Already proven and good performance for the money since the last AMD rebate. Daily use in audio recording and gaming.

I have been running this processor so far for 3 days, and I can say it's a beast. I will never probably get this processor to 100% usage, however it is nice to have the extra horsepower for if I might need it in the future. I can recommend this processor, it was easy enough to install. It does get a bit loud with my fans at times, but I think that is more an issue with the fans than with the processor getting too hot. This thing is really powerful. I never expected to out-do my expectations when it came to raw performance. The only thing to worry about this CPU is the fact that you need a beefy cooler in order to operate at cool temperatures as even the stock coolers from AMD struggle to even cool this beast. This CPU rocks. I upgraded from an Intel i7 6700k and im noticing the 5900x smash gaming and streaming at the same time. No longer crashing with multiple programs open. This CPU rocks. This is a very good CPU. Nothing more to say. Jumped from a R5 3600 to this so kind of forgot about the thermal aspect. Did a small boost to the fan curve, and voila! No longer need a heater for the winter ;)

Installed this onto an Asus Crosshair VIII Dark Hero motherboard and everything worked well out of the box.
This is my first AMD CPU for about 20 years. It is remarkable what competition does for the computer industry and, in 2020/21, AMD is certainly well ahead. Gone (for now) are the days when a CPU upgrade resulted in performance being only a few percentage points higher than the old one (Intel).
This CPU just yelled out to me "buy me". Installed this onto an Asus Crosshair VIII Dark Hero motherboard and everything worked well out of the box.

with the cache being the most beneficial factor to gaming performance, the 5900x gets very close OC'd to 4.6+ all core with appropriate cooling,
which i already had, without that and no need for extra cores the 5800x3d is the better choice for most users.

If you have the cooling and a workflow requiring more than just games however, this is the better option. purchased to upgrade from a 3900x.

The old processor was an AMD FX8350, which had done well for those 10 years, but the 5900X is a big upgrade - more than I need at present, but as I want this new system to last 10 years too, I am very happy with it. It is still relatively low power for so much CPU, which is a bonus as this PC is on 24/7 so I do not want to increase the power bill. The new system (with an Asus ROG STRIX X-570E Gaming WiFi II motherboard and 64 Gibytes of RAM) draws about the same power as the old one (Asus Sabertooth 990FX 2.0 with 16 Gibytes RAM).
