Kingston KC3000 1TB M.2 NVMe Internal SSD

This is remarkably, priced well below the main SSD options for the PS5 (even when not on special). That includes WD Black, and Samsung 900 series. Likely incredible for PCs and laptops.

Kingston is a solid brand, for tech components and memory storage. I've used them on and off for SD cards and they do last the distance.

For PS5: It does have a heat spreader on the memory, but I figured an actual heatsink would still be a safer bet. In my case I got a Jeyi M.2 Heatsink and only placed the two thermal strips on the SSD. No need for the copper strip (since it already has one installed). When installing, you do have to be careful as Sony has made it a little tricky for SSD installs. My PS5 measured the read/write speeds at 6.5k MB/s (Well above the requirements).

I've been using Samsung M.2s for years now and this gawjuss little unit popped up on my radar.
After checking out the specs in comparison this was a clear winner.
Pros: Faster than Samsung, great bonus deals. The price is too good to be true.

Installed July 2023 on an Asus Prime B450M-A motherboard (first generation) with BIOS updated to "latest" as of that same month (with software TPM 2.0 support). No other SSDs or other drives attached.

Motherboard and Windows 11 both recognised the device out-of-box and required no additional configuration for formatting and installation. I see about half the advertised read-write speed on this motherboard via free disk profiling tools, but that's likely to be a motherboard limitation and 3500MB/sec is nothing to be sniffed at either way.

A good fast highish capacity ssd for quite a cheap price, would reccomend.
Comes with a free subscription to some acronis features.

Same hardware/firmware as Kingston's Fury Renegade line of gen 4 m.2 SSDs. Excellently priced SSD that is within the recommended specs for PS5 M.2 storage. Comes with an integrated heatspreader, so you shouldn't need to worry about an additional heatsink. Priced below competitors like the 980 pro, or SN850 and still comes with a decently long manufacturers warranty. Same hardware/firmware as Kingston's Fury Renegade line of gen 4 m.2 SSDs.
