These headphones are very good, they are light weight and have top tier noise cancellation. And thw app is very customisable with heaps of differnt mods you can have for you favourite sound all in all love the product. At first i was afraid to spend this much on headphones for myself, but then I realised they will not only be for music but also as an accommodation device. And they work so well for that! I love using them to drown out noises in loud public places and to listen to my favourite music. Really love the gesture feature to change tracks and how easy they are to use. I’ve read some pretty mixed reviews about these, but I can personally say that after using these almost daily, I have no complaints. They’re extremely comfortable, music sounds so much better and the ability to customise them specifically to you, is a really nice touch. I've had the previous iterations of these headphones and this one is even better. Love these. Comfy, good sound, seemless connectivity. Highly recommend if you can't afford the WH-1000XM5. This worked nicely as soon as I purchased it. Over time, the connection did not appear stable, especially with a Windows computer. Upgraded the firmware to 2.5.9 (Latest) recently, which made the stability issues a bit better, but far from resolved.
So horrible, I would never buy a Sony headset ever again. Giving 3 stars for the couple of years I used it without any issues. This worked nicely as soon as I purchased it. Over time, the connection did not appear stable, especially with a Windows computer. Upgraded the firmware to 2.5.9 (Latest) recently, which made the stability issues a bit better, but far from resolved.

Purchased online via afterpay, seen the good reviews, never had noise cancelling headphones before.. these are A-mazing how it filters out the noise but faintly hear voices, intercoms, sirens.. i would wear these on international flights cause it will block out the background noise hopefully.. great buy! My Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones I purchased on 29-09-2023 were a mistake. Within a few weeks, three critical failures occurred:
1. Static/Wind Noise Defect: Constant hissing/static (documented by hundreds on various platforms) makes ANC unusable.
2️. Humidity Trapping: Water builds up inside ear cups daily - requiring disassembly just to function (unacceptable for "premium" headphones).
3️. Hinge Catastrophe: The right hinge completely shattered, rendering them useless.
Sony NZ's Response?
• Denied warranty claims for known defects
• Ignored Consumer Guarantees Act (CGA) obligations
• Left me with e-waste and months of frustration

You're violating NZ consumer law. The CGA requires:
✔ Goods to be durable (hinges shouldn't disintegrate)
✔ Goods to be fit for purpose (ANC shouldn't hiss like a broken radio)
✔ Free repairs/replacements for manufacturing defects
To Consumers:
DO NOT BUY until Sony:
⚠ Acknowledges these design flaws
⚠ Extends warranties for affected units
⚠ Issues refunds to victims like me

I strongly recommend Bose for premium headphones with ANC, and Soundcore for Budget headphones with ANC. My Bose ANC headphone is still working perfectly after 4 years and more. My budget Soundcore headphones are great as well.
