There is no app to change the backlighting on this keyboard. You're stuck with the few preset options they provide on board. You might be able to adjust lighting through another third party app but I am not sure. The keyboard backlighting is okay-ish when looking from straight above it. I wouldn't buy this particular model again and do not recommend it unless it was advertised at a very well price and suited another application. Its mechanical and is pretty good to touch type on. Its on the quieter end of mechanical keys but the space bar makes a real clack as you hit it which doesn't match the rest.
The colours are barely customisable at all - A couple of simple wipes and fades but the colours aren't changable and are set for each key. They also glow from the bottom of the keys but don't really light up the actual letters much.

I got a better mechanical keyboard for the same price which has more ability to customise colours and highlight keys for games etc. Its more clicky and the lights are better. This one is for my office PC just to be a better typist and it'll fill that need - Its better than the Logitech wireless that I had.

I got it on special and I'm happy enough - I wouldn't pay full price for this keyboard.

Keyboard is great, worked over 3 years now, however, when originally buying I thought that the RGB was moving like a smooth wave, but the photo shown on the image is just static. The colors do not move, unless you change the setting of the keyboard, where it only displays one color at a time and slowly changes, works great however.
