It can solve MacBook Air M series single extended monitor problem, but you need another dongle to convert usb c to usb a to fix this dock. I wanted a dual monitor setup for my office. I started off by buying a USB-C dock (un-powered). This wasn't effective. So I spent a bit more money on a powered alternative. Really happy with this, bought it for my son who uses a laptop at school so he could have a dual screen work station at home, with plug in ethernet and blue tooth keyboard and mouse. Tried a cheaper brand and couldn't get the displays to work, but the DELL just plugged in and went, the USB A connector means that it is compatible with most brands of laptop.

I have a Microsoft surface which I bought an official Microsoft dock for, (which was quite a bit more expensive than the dell docking station) but I think the Dell is more reliable (so far).
