Being able to connect with great internet across the house from the router is definitely worth the cost of this thing. Have run an RT/MR mesh pair now for a couple of months, in a three story concrete townhouse that I found out once I was in had a history of bad wifi coverage due to its layout and construction. These run a wired backhaul - extremely easy to set up - and a firewall and filtering setup with reporting that shows just how much rubbish there is to cut out from the net. I have used dlink and netgear alongwith DD-WRT in the past - and will not be going back. Now have great coverage throughout the property, a fast local VPN set up which is great when travelling, and much better control of traffic. No complaints. Its was easy to set up , works well , good software , have had it for about a month .

This is solid WiFi Extender. Easy and reliable addition to a Synology-based network. Was easy to connect and strong signal extension throughout the home. This is the best all round mesh wifi system out there (when paired with a RT2600ac) for home or small business. However be warned that the firmware that these routers ship with is terrible and the first thing you need to do is upgrade it before configuring ANYTHING else. After that it is all smooth sailing. Bought as an add-on to an existing Synology RT2600AC router. Connected flawlessly and ran an update. Working fine in the downstairs section of the home enabling a good home office setup. The range isn't as strong as the main unit but that should be expected I think.

This particular system was bought after numerous recommendations online and couple with wired ethernet into each router gives a solid cast-iron signal across the home. A few problems with firmware during initial setup but Synology customer service were very efficient in providing updated firmware to fix the problem. Range ok but the unit could really benefit from a set of external antennas. Once setup it integrates seemlessly with the RT-2600 and forms and excellent wireless network. I'm happy with the router now that it is all set up and working. It has good range and steady service. No PB Tech instructions on how to set it up. My internet provider had not heard of this brand so could also not help. Spent a few hours troubleshooting but all working well now. Disappointed that it only has one outlet not multiple so I need to buy an additional adapter for multi adsl outputs. I'm happy with the router now that it is all set up and working.
