The setup for the TP-LINK Deco x55 was very straight forward, we needed to adjust certain DHCP sland PPPoE parameters according to our ISP before being allowed connectivity. With 3 wifi points, the Range is extensive and covers out 4 bedroom house with ease. There's even signal across the road. The inbuilt features on the Deco app allow way more control and monitoring over which devices and who is on your network which is great for stopping unwanted guests and controlling bandwidth. Good speed and signal strength, and painless meshing. Unclear if the wired connection actually works on the secondary units. But my gripe is that it isn't a clean connection - it tries to redirect you to its own site, messes with the DNS, and as a result the phone keeps asking you to sign in. Just not keeping it simple. The installation process is simple, but the signal is extremely unstable, which leads to easy disconnection! Always being reinstalled ~ disconnected ~ reinstalled ~ disconnected ... Biggest mistake is I should have bought this when I moved into a the house, not waited for a couple of years, or trying cheaper solutions.

Easy to set up, with a couple of options, we now have full good speed wifi across the two story house, and pretty easy to move existing connections on to the new connection. Also easy to see who is connected, and who is using the bandwidth (along with new and strange devices). And great that I can plug a couple of devices directly into the unit (so I could remove a switch and an old router)

The only downsides:
cost compared to putting up with poor connectivity (which costs much less)

Guest wifi mode is a bit clumsy. It works, but I can't schedule it or limit it. I imagine a lot of people just leave it on (which defeats have the purpose of having Guest Wifi mode)

I have my home set up with three TP-Link Deco X55 but there are a couple of weaker spots and bought these to enlarge the WiFi coverage. Installing them was breeze via their App and the results are excellent. If you have an existing Network and want fuller (and faster cover), grab a pack of 2 of these and install. moved into new house to find we had no wifi coverage in rear rooms. After much research replaced old router with Deco 3pack system and what a difference. not only the whole house but all of the section as well. Speed went up also from 350 to 540 mbps ( we pay for 500 with one nz) was a easy set up , just had to change 1 setting for NZ to PPPoE . Overall very happy moved into new house to find we had no wifi coverage in rear rooms. I got these to extend my existing WiFi network, and for that, they're amazing. The app guides you through adding new services to the network and it all just works without needing to know anything technical. The app is great too, like the feature to turn on a separate guest network of you don't want to share your WiFi password.

The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because of the hub switch process. Since these were newer devices, I wanted to use one as the main router. The app has a button just for switching the main router to a new one, but it didn't work. The app has a button just for switching the main router to a new one, but it didn't work. Both the old and new routers stopped communicating with the ISP, and it only came right when I started my network setup from scratch using a spare unit. Unless you're happy diagnosing weird router issues, stay away from the button to switch over the main unit to a new one.

Very easy setup, in fact my 15yo daughter did it in five minutes and all worked on first attempt. With several video streamers concurrently active in evenings our older system simply became hopeless, very slow to load pages, timeouts etc. The Deco handles the load well, is snappy and highly recommended.
