What was that noise? Guess I'm just imagining things 😉
So I've read reviews about how this tiny box has a tendency to make quite loud and obnoxious noises during operation.
I was abit sceptical of this product as I was reading through the reviews but I ultimately decided to pull the trigger and buy the thing, regardless of how noisy it could be.
Now finally having the psu installed , I've failed to hear any noise coming from it !
Works great
Like the title says, works great. I was a bit worried about the other reviews complaining about noise, but in my system the fans stay off during idle or cpu load, and only turn on when my gpu kicks in. If you have a particularly low powered system you may run into problems like the other reviews mention, but otherwise you should be fine.
Unfortunately not very good
I bought one of these units but after a couple of uses it started sparking bad when turning on, so I replaced it and got a new one. Unfortunately, after a few more uses this one had the same issue which isn't too good but I have since switched to another brand that is working much better. PB is good at replacing them though no complaints there.
Silent-to-quiet, and just works
I got this recently to replace a Cooler Master 850W SFX PSU. The Cooler Master was *loud*, louder than e.g., the 4070 Super in the machine.
By comparison the Lian Li unit is a marvel. It's fanless operation is more or less the default while you're just cruising the web, and when you kick into gaming, it's whisper quiet (it's quieter than the Noctua CPU fan, for example).
A nice freature is that while the unit doesn't have a 12V HPWR connector, it does have a convertor in the box so you can use it with newer GPUs without needing to buy more accessories.
