Philips 55PUT7428/79 55" 4K Google Smart TV

This replaced a 5 year old 49" Konka and while slightly bigger the image difference really blew me away. Easy to mount on my existing mesa bracket, the google setup from my phone was straightforward (although it was a bit slow to complete) It's run flawlessly since. I was tempted to spend the extra $50 for ambilight because everything else in my house is RGB. Next time for sure. I have it on Basic Mode with Google TV disabled. Tried Google TV and found it too limiting. Not using digital TV channels either. I now have a mini pc attached to it via HDMI and set picture settings to PC Mode. I can watch what I want without limitations and I much prefer to use a mouse and keyboard rather than just the remote. I find the display very nice with good colour and clarity especially compared to what I was using which was a 28” monitor. Internal speakers are not as good as my bookshelf speakers so I use those with a toslink optical cable. All up I would recommend it based on my setup and budget.

It says 4K but the picture quality is not great. The blacks are grey in multiple occasions. Maybe for this price it would be better a Samsung.

Great TV, but does not have a dual tuner which is required for the location we installed it.
