Eaton 5E Tower UPS, 850VA / 480W, 2 ANZ Outlets, Line Interactive with Automatic Voltage Regulation

Purchased April 2020 and tested then - held my equipment for 6 mins then. NAS automatically shutdown cleanly. All seemed fine and did what it should. However we had a power outage yesterday and the Eaton literally only lasted about 5 seconds (only a couple of beeps out of it before it just died). Not enough time for the home NAS to shutdown cleanly (potential for data corruption). Load was actually slightly less than when purchased and tested intially. I understood that the battery should last 3-5 years. Seems to be pretty much dead after just 17 months. Has always been plugged in. Very disappointed. Would not purchase again. A great little UPS unit. Software is not the most user friendly but managed to program it so it doesn't beep every 10 seconds when the mains power goes off. A great little UPS unit. Had a customer that needs their internet to stay on in a power cut. This is small enough to sit on a hallway shelf but enough to run the router for probably all day. The application scenarios are limited because of their LOW battery capacity. As a fully charged overnight for more than 6 hours, it can ONLY sustain my wifi-router for less than 2 hours. I live in a Rural location and the UPS has provided excellent time for my internet connection during power outages.

Not much to say really. Installed to add protection to a NAS and mitigate brownouts. Hasn't had any problems in the 3 months I have had it.
Weight is okay, size profile is okay.

Hooked this up with no dramas to my unRAID box. Silent operation, and took only a couple of moments to set up with unRAID NUT plugin for auto shutdown. Highly recommend. Simple and it works. Got it to protect the TV, Apple TV and Freeview box as we live in an area with lots of power problems. The only thing I would change is the position of the USB port at the front. Would look a bit strange if using for a PC and was visible with the cable sticking out. Simple and it works.
